Are you seeking a new opportunity within an ambitious and supportive team, where you can contribute towards an excellent teaching and learning environment? We are looking for a dedicated Teacher of English to join our team on Maternity Cover from January 2027 until the end of this Academic Year (July 2027). You’ll possess energy, enthusiasm and desire to inspire a love of English. You will be responsible for delivering English lessons in line with relevant curriculum requirements, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning are maintained, whilst collaborating with the wider English faculty to sustain and raise class achievement to an outstanding level.
You will join a thriving English department led by an exceptional Head of Department and a wonderfully supportive team who genuinely enjoy working together. The department combines high expectations with a collaborative culture, ensuring that staff are well supported at every stage of their career.
Our students consistently achieve excellent outcomes in English, with over two-thirds securing grade 5+ in GCSE English last year, a result that was 10% above target. This success reflects the quality of teaching, the strength of the curriculum and the collective commitment of the team to helping every student succeed.

The right candidate will have:
Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent qualification
Relevant specialist qualifications and subject experience (e.g BA Hons. degree in English)
Understanding of curriculum requirements for English
Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development
Understanding of how to implement assessment methods for differentiated learning strategies
